2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:
Headquartered at Seattle, WA-USA, SightLife is the only non-profit global health organization, focused solely on eliminating corneal blindness.
Working with surgeons in over 30 countries, SightLife and its Global Partners restore sight to more than 20 men, women, and children each day. This is accomplished through eye banks, which are centers for the recovery and placement of eye tissue used in cornea transplants.
SightLife’s mission is to eliminate corneal blindness globally, through partnerships with eye banks in developing countries, where 90% of the world’s 10 million persons, estimated to suffer from curable corneal blindness, live.
SightLife constituted a small team of senior management and distribution professionals in India in 2010 for this purpose and building on the organization’s global expertise, has successfully implemented a comprehensive program to support the development of eye banks and corneal surgeons, across India.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to SightLife’s Director- Surgeon Training and working collaboratively with key globalSightLife staff and subject matter experts, the Surgeon Relationship Manager shall be responsible for managing SightLife programs in India.
The focus of the post-holder shall be to implement the surgeon training program in India, by managing relationships with corneal surgeons at various healthcare facilities across the country. S/he will plan and execute training events, maintain relationships with eye hospitals and corneal surgeons. The post holder will act as an ambassador for the Surgeon Skills Transfer Program, communicating the value the program brings to the corneal surgeon community.
Key Responsibilities 
(1) With the guidance of Director of Surgeon Training & Regional Sr. Director of Strategic Initiatives, support and build long-term, trusting relationships with all key decision makers/ stakeholders (viz. surgeons, eye hospitals, etc);
Support the Director of Surgeon Training: 
(2) Support the Surgeon Skills Transfer Program, from planning to execution;
(3) strong relationships with corneal surgeons and researchers, key thought leaders and administrators at partner organizations, specific to the evolution and engagement of SightLife’s surgeon training program. Be proactive in understanding trends in corneal surgery both nationally and internationally and issues that are likely to impact SightLife’s global mission;
(4) Ensure participation or representation at national and international trade shows, as necessary;
(5) Serve as host to visiting corneal surgeons and other VIPs in India;  
(6) Manage event (surgeon trainings, wet labs) logistics such as travel, registration, set-up requirements, etc.; communicate event details to internal and external audiences;
(7) Manage the tracking, monitoring and gathering of project level reports and program information for the surgeon training program;
(8) Professional, social, engaged, yet measured interaction with corneal surgeons and their staff in various settings such as the operating room, clinic, professional conferences and social settings;  
(9) Support online communications activities, including drafting text for website and various publications;
(10) Coordinate between surgeon training and eye bank development programs in India;
(11) Ensure proper coordination of all surgeon training program activities in consultation with her/his supervisor.
Support the Regional Sr. Director of Strategic Initiatives: 
(12) Provide support services to the Sr. Director of Strategic Initiatives for the Medical Advisory Board/Committee, including meeting preparation, logistics, communications and follow-up. Identify key topics and organize meeting within MD community to help standardize medical practices across eye banks.
(13) Conduct research and prepare background information for advocacy, decisions, meetings, and other outreach. 
(14) Jointly build and execute strategic plan to bring change in Medical college curriculum, ensuring corneal surgery gains visibility and importance in ophthalmology world.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:        
Qualification:
(1)The applicant must possess a Masters in Business Administration (MBA), or Public Health (MPH), or other relevant professional qualification, from a top notch, premier institute.
Experience:
(1) Minimum five years of progressive experience in marketing, concept selling, relationship management, or business development, preferably in a, global health or healthcare set-up;
(2) Minimum five years of progressive experience in building successful customer relationships;
(3) Minimum two years of project management expertise.
Skills and Attributes:
(1) Experience in successfully building and maintaining client-based relationships; 
(2) Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi is essential. Knowledge of a third language shall be an advantage; 
(3) Exceptional verbal, written, analytical, presentation, customer service and interpersonal skills;
(4) Ability to coordinate projects with multiple and occasionally conflicting priorities, simultaneously. 
(5) Ability to meet deadlines and accurately attend to details in high pressure situations. 
(6) Excellent planning, time management, decision-making and organization skills;
(7) Self-motivated team player with desire and ability to learn rapidly;
(8) Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision;
(9) Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of staff levels and with external vendors;
(10) Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to use basic PCs, standard desktop software, Web meeting applications/ Virtual PC software and stay current with relevant technology and innovation;
(11) Commitment to the cause of corneal donation;
(12) High personal integrity and ethics;
(13) Ability to work late nights on periodic basis, as a participant in global meetings in different time zones;
(14) Ability to travel 20% of the time and internationally 10% of the time.
5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross compensation for the position is attractive. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
