Population Services International, India is a registered Indian Society dedicated to the improvement of public health in India. As a mission, PSI makes it easier for people in the developing world to lead healthier lives and plan the families they desire by marketing affordable products and services. PSI harnesses the vitality of the private sector to address health problems of the low-income and vulnerable populations using social marketing to achieve positive behaviour change by promoting ideas, products and services conducive to better health. PSI promotes and distributes 11 health products, using commercial channels and outlets to make available quality health products at affordable prices. The basket of products includes condoms, oral contraceptives, intra uterine devices, emergency contraceptives, ORS, water purification solutions; IFA tablets; clean delivery kits and pre-packaged STI treatment kit. PSI India is amidst studying commercialization approaches to pursue robust business models, resulting in increased value and relevance from its basket of health products. This position is expected to provide strategic leadership to the process, platform and people and should bring an entrepreneurial spirit and significant management and market development experience.


• Invigorate PSI’s marketing efforts by bringing best-in-case tools and process for marketing planning and marketing decision making at all levels within the organization
• Bring advanced brand and category management thinking to existing and new portfolios of products and services to ensure increased uptake and use
• Instill rigor into our marketing planning to achieve sustainability using consistent global processes and discipline to relevant products and services within our portfolio
• Create innovative and nimble methods to test-market and scale new products and services
• Increase the degree of our data-driven decision making resulting in better consumer and market insight, as well as enhanced use of routine monitoring data
• Above all, help support the Global Marketing Director to instill marketing discipline as the core operating principle that guides all of PSI country and regional operations
• Collaborate with Program Directors for the development, launch and expanded distribution of new products
• Develop and implement systems for the efficient transportation and warehousing of PSI products
• Lead the development and enhancement of key trade relationships
• Development and implementation of sales promotional campaigns and materials
• Responsibility for the cost center budget to include all product accounts, a portion of program income and the marketing subsidy


• Post-Graduate degree in Marketing & Sales management or related field; and
• Atleast 17 years of management experience in the private or development sectors in the sales & marketing function where s/he has a proven track record of bringing in innovative marketing techniques into play for growing sales of new and existing products in FMCG or Pharmaceutical settings.
• Desirable: 5-10+ years’ experience generating tangible results in the consumer or pharmaceutical marketing fields, including substantial experience in a variety of developing world settings.
