Going to School (GTS) is an award
winning, creative, not-for-profit education trust that creates design-driven
stories, to empower all children with the skills they need to participate in
the world around them, solving poverty, unemployment and inequality.
GTS imparts entrepreneurial skills to government school children,
through the art of storytelling with the help of books, games and activities
designed by GTS. School teachers
are trained by GTS to impart these skills. GTS’s
curriculum has been widely recognised and has also been included in NCERT at
the national level. GTS is working closely with the Government
of Bihar and Jharkhand. GTS has an MOU to work in 3,000+
Government schools by 2018.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting and working closely with the CEO and the COO,
the Manager HR shall be responsible for ensuring that
all administrative processes are in-place at GTS, including
creating HR strategies and policies, identifying the needs of programs and
linking the same with recruitment strategy. S/he shall formalize talent
management, recruitment processes and policies and define clearly how the
different teams/ verticals shall engage with each other. The post holder shall
gain a unique opportunity to shape the growth of GTS.
Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Identifying tie-ups for recruitment purposes and engaging
stakeholders;
(2) Integrating best induction methods into GTS’s model;
(3) Ensuring that employees and managers follow the appropriate process for performance reviews;
(4) Defining and implementing a plan for professional development, based on defined competencies;
(5) Developing an overall strategy for professional development and facilitating trainings and executive coaching;
(6) Regularly benchmarking GTS’s compensation and policies against other players in both the non-profit and corporate space and recommending changes accordingly;
(7) Ensuring employee engagement activities are in alignment with and designed to build culture at GTS;
(8) Having a pulse on employee satisfaction and identifying forums through which people can share with HR;
(9) Analysing outcomes of periodic engagement surveys and sharing key priorities with Senior Management;
(10) Advising upon and defining new policies such as work from home, emergency leave, etc. to ensure that GTS remains competitive with other employers;
(11) Ensuring administrative processes are efficient and effective;
(12) Creating, updating and implementing policies and processes related to administration.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification:
Applicants must have a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management or General Management.
Experience:
(1) Applicants must possess a minimum of five years of relevant work experience in Human Resources Management;
(2) Prior experience of working with the development sector, specifically in the education sector and in a dynamic environment, shall be preferred.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
The gross remuneration budgeted for the position is Rs. 5- 6 lacs
per annum. Offers shall be commensurate with the qualifications, experience and
salary history, of the selected candidate.
