2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:
Headquartered at Seattle, WA-USA, SightLife is the only non-profit global health
organization, focused solely on eliminating corneal blindness.
Working with surgeons in over 30 countries, SightLife and its Global Partners restore sight
to more than 20 men, women, and children each day. This is accomplished through
eye banks, which are centers for the recovery and placement of eye tissue used
in cornea transplants.
SightLife’s mission
is to eliminate corneal blindness globally, through partnerships with eye banks
in developing countries, where 90% of the world’s 10 million persons, estimated
to suffer from curable corneal blindness, live.
SightLife constituted
a small team of senior management and distribution professionals in India in
2010 for this purpose and building on the organization’s global expertise, has
successfully implemented a comprehensive program to support the development of
eye banks and corneal surgeons, across India.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
If you are creative and passionate about learning and are looking

impactful learning opportunities, SightLife would like to talk with you about
their Learning & Development Specialist role.
Reporting to SightLife’s Senior Manager of Learning & Development and working
collaboratively with key global SightLife staff and subject matter experts, the Learning
and Development Specialist shall
be responsible for building knowledge and skills among SightLife partners and programs in India.
The Learning & Development Specialist shall play a critical leadership role
in working alongside eye bank partners, to improve their technical,
operational, management and leadership capabilities. The ultimate goal is to
create a highly capable network of employees, focused on eliminating corneal
blindness in the developing world. The role shall provide and support
interesting, engaging, meaningful learning experiences, delivered both
in-person and online.
Key Responsibilities:
(1) Identify and assess learning needs of staff and eye bank
partners, collaborate across functions, teams and partner organizations to
identify appropriate learning solutions that will address skills gaps
(2) Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and do independent research to develop training plans that will address identified skills gaps, including the design of assessment and evaluation tools;
(3) Rapidly design, develop, lead and assess the impact of engaging training solutions that learners enjoy completing and also help build skills which they will be able to apply immediately in a real-world context. This includes developing necessary lesson plans, outlines, and project plans;
(4) Develop learning resources (handouts, manuals, job aids, etc.), and digital materials for webinar and classroom learning opportunities;
(5) Develop and implement evaluation strategies to determine the effectiveness of training
(6) Assist in developing a learning program that is part of an ongoing process (as opposed to a series of distinct events), including accountability for pre-, during and post-course follow up and support;
(7) Assist, coordinate, and support scheduled learning events;
(8) Serve as a champion and promoter of existing learning resources;
(9) Serve as a learning and development SME for technical experts who need assistance in presenting material in a manner that meets the needs of adult learners;
(10) Identify and promote informal learning opportunities beyond in-house resources;
(11) Conduct usability and user experience testing of computer-based learning solutions;
(12) Perform other projects and duties, as assigned.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification:
Applicants should be graduates in a relevant field.
Experience:
(1) Minimum of three years experience in designing and delivering
training programs;
(2) Experience of working with a variety of cultures shall be an advantage.

Skills and Attributes:
(1) Knowledge of and ability to apply sound adult learning
principles in everything produced;
(2) Proven ability to design highly engaging training sessions;
(3) Proven ability to take an initiative from start to finish, including putting structures in place for tracking, assessment and follow up;
(4) Ability to define the problem, to identify appropriate solutions;
(5) Ability to analyze assessments and outcomes of leaning initiatives against key business metrics to communicate return on investment of training programs;
(6) Proven ability to design using rapid authoring software tools such as Articulate Storyline;
(7) Proven ability to maximize the use of Adobe Connect or other web conferencing software;
(8) Fluency in English and Hindi is essential. Knowledge of a third (or more) language is preferred;
(9) Ability to travel domestically and internationally
(10) Personal commitment to organ and tissue donation is essential.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross compensation is attractive. The offer made to the selected
candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary
