JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: APM– Community Mobilization

Location: Dahej

Reporting to: Team Leader – CSR Hazira

To provide impetus to various philanthropic initiatives of RIL, Reliance Foundation (RF) was set up in 2010 as an expression of its vision towards sustainable growth in India. Reliance Foundation works with some of the most vulnerable and marginalized communities across India, with the objective of integrating them into mainstream development process of the country. The Foundation focuses its efforts on five core pillars of Rural Transformation, Education, Health, Urban Renewal and Arts, Culture & Heritage.

The Foundation is also entrusted with the responsibility of leading the developmental activities in and around the company’s CSR function of all the RIL Plants in various parts of the country and provide all kinds of support to implementation of CSR at Sites. 

Position overview:

Community mobilization forms very important part of the CSR as it works as bridge between the local management of Plant and the community. This position encompasses working on the mobilization of the local community for CSR at Dahej with a view to make equal partner in the development process in the area. The person has to work at implementation level on the ground and with the community. The incumbent will report to the Team Leader CSR at Hazira and would require to work in tandem with Plant’s priorities. In consultation with the Team Leader CSR, the person will help in preparation of the strategy for ground implementation of various CSR activities, help Implement the various program along with other team members and monitor regularly outcome of the project activities. The position will take responsibility for smooth implementation of the various components of the project at its base location as envisaged under the approved projects for Hazira from time to time. In order to create the desired impact, the person will work closely with community and other CSR Team members at Dahej or any partner agencies and other programs of RF to bring in quality output and delivery of the result for betterment of community and create a good brand image of the company amongst the local stakeholders. One of the important tasks would be to create a goodwill of the company amongst various stakeholders and towards this end the person has to constantly meet people in Govt., local leaders, influential people of the area and create positive brand for the foundation and the company. 

Another aspect of responsibilities for this position is to provide all kinds of support to existing CSR activities at Plant level, be it through organizing various events program, Sports promotion, infrastructure improvement or any other relevant program having strategic advantage for the company. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Situation analysis and Community Mobilization:


Do help the CSR team in conducting a proper situational analysis of the area with respect to various CSR priorities/ requirements and will be responsible for first mobilization of the community, the detailed survey exercises with respect to selection of the target community, creation of baseline. Motivate the identified community towards meeting the project objectives and organizing them into common interest groups under suitable framework to build sustainable institutions on ground. Take regular feedback from the community on various actions of the project and rectify the work/implementation schedule in consultation with Team leader.

Planning & Budgeting:

Help the CSR team with participation of community in Preparation of the detailed Implementation plan as per annual work activities from time to time, and provide support to TL in Drafting annual physical plans and budgets, monthly/quarterly and weekly updates on progress of different initiatives under the Project. Provide support in discussion to draw up the sustainability plans of the project with the help of community in the area.

Team and Capacity building:

Meet regularly the community and help identify the areas of development and develop the capacity building plans along with other CSR team members and other farmer members on various aspects of the plan. Provide all logistics support for carrying out elaborate capacity building activities at community level.

Programme Implementation:

Will be primarily responsible for ensuring that there is no hurdle for day to day implementation of all activities of the program, and its monitoring & reporting regularly through a systematic Process of capturing activities and outcome. The person will provide all the helps in MIS generation and managing a good flow of information from both ends- community and management

Networking and linkages:

Help the team in identification of various successful models, best practices in the operational area related to Animal husbandry, Goat, Sheep, Poultry, Fishery, Bee Keeping , skilling, infra-up gradation etc. Lliaison with all stakeholders on the ground and networking with one and all for better community action towards achieving the objectives of the Project. 

Educational Qualifications and experience:

a) Must haves / Essential:
• A post graduate diploma in Social Work/Rural Development/MBA or any equivalent qualification. A PG degree/Diploma in relevant subject would get additional advantage
• Minimum 3 years of Implementation experience in mobilizing community on CSR activities or in managing agri or agri allied related project in an NGO or corporate CSR. 
• Demonstrated ability to think, prioritize, and Implement the activities as per the project deadlines, must be gender and culturally sensitive.

b) Preferred:
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders, Partners and internal customers in a dynamic environment.
• Experience of Planning and Implementation, tools and systems.
• Excellent ability to speak and write in English and at least one Indian Language for communicating with internal and external Stake holders. Knowledge of Gujarati language would be added advantage.

Key Competencies: 

• Excellent interpersonal skills and Problem solving skills
• Should be tech savvy & comfortable computers & smart phone for day to day activities.
• Ability to work well with diverse teams from all backgrounds and levels.
• Strong technical skills in the domain area – CSR and community mobilization.
• Experience in capacity building (local partner from civil society & stakeholder farmers).
