Position Title: PM– CSR (Skilling and Education and Livelihood)

Location: Hazira

Reporting to: Team Leader– CSR Hazira

To provide impetus to various philanthropic initiatives of RIL, Reliance Foundation (RF) was set up in 2010 as an expression of its vision towards sustainable growth in India. Reliance Foundation works with some of the most vulnerable and marginalized communities across India, with the objective of integrating them into mainstream development process of the country. The Foundation focuses its efforts on five core pillars of Rural Transformation, Education, Health, Urban Renewal and Arts, Culture & Heritage.

The Foundation is also entrusted with the responsibility of leading the developmental activities in and around the company’s CSR function of the RIL Plants in various parts of the country and provide all kinds of support to be more focussed on the CSR efforts of the company. From RF side the SEALs Team looks after the CSR operations of the Plant, and this position would be part of the Seals Team.

Position overview:

The position encompasses working on the all aspects of the CSR Program including- Health, Environment, Education, with a focus on Skilling, livelihood and Education program under the CSR at Hazira Plant and its operational area. The Skilling initiative consists of providing Alternative livelihood options in terms of provision of skills training and Job placement, development of Entrepreneur and increasing the scope of doing social business opportunities through common interest groups like SHG, according to local situations. The incumbent will report to the Team Leader CSR at Hazira and would require to work in tandem with Plant’s priorities. Under the guidance of Team Lead CSR, the person will help in preparation of the strategy for ground implementation of overall CSR particularly on Skilling, livelihood and Education project activities or work on any other relevant activities that can be advised from time to time by TL, Implement the program and monitor regularly output of the project activities at community levels, including capacity building if any. The position will take operational responsibility for implementing the various components of the project at its base location as envisaged under the approved projects for Hazira from time to time. In order to create the desired impact, the person will work closely with community and other CSR Team members at Hazira or any partner agencies and other programs of RF to bring in quality output and delivery of the result for betterment of community and create a good brand image of the company amongst the local stakeholders. Another aspect of responsibilities for this position is to provide all kinds of support to existing Education improvement project at Plant level, be it through organizing various Educational Scholarship program, events, Tuition support, Sports promotion, infrastructure improvement or any other relevant program in nearby areas having strategic advantage for the company and community. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Situation analysis and Community Mobilization:

Do proper situational analysis of the area with respect to the CSR particularly on Education, livelihood and Skilling requirements at Hazira, and be responsible for implementation of activities and mobilization of the community towards particular projects. Work out a detailed survey exercises for selection of the target community, creation of baseline. Motivate the identified community towards meeting the project objectives and organizing them into common interest groups under suitable framework to build sustainable institutions on ground. Take regular feedback from the community on various actions of the project and rectify the work/implementation schedule in consultation with Project Manager.

Planning & Budgeting:

Along with TL, prepare the detailed Implementation plan as per the decided annual work activities from time to time, and provide support to TL in Drafting annual physical plans and budgets, monthly/quarterly and weekly updates on progress of different initiatives under the Project. Help TL to draw up the sustainability plans of the project in the area as envisaged in the project. Develop a timeline wise key deliverables of the project.

Team and Capacity building:

Meet regularly the community and develop community level resource persons and help identify the areas of development and develop the capacity building plans of the community, on various aspects of the plan. 

Programme Implementation:

Will be primarily responsible for day to day implementation of all activities of the CSR program, its monitoring & reporting regularly through a systematic process of capturing activities and outcome.

Networking and linkages:

Help the team in identification of various successful models, best practices in the operational area related to alternative livelihood etc. Identify and support the lead farmers and micro Entrepreneur and help the person in developing the business locally. liaison with all stakeholders on the ground and networking with one and all for better community action towards achieving the objectives of the Project. 

Educational Qualifications and experience:

a) Must haves / Essential:
• A post graduate diploma in Social Work/Rural Development/Management or any equivalent and relevant qualification, A PG degree/Diploma would get additional advantage
• Minimum 5-7 years of Implementation experience in managing CSR program , agri or Non agri allied or related project in an NGO or corporate CSR. 
• Demonstrated ability to think, prioritize, and Implement the activities as per the project deadlines, must be gender and culturally sensitive.

b) Preferred:
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders, Partners and internal customers in a dynamic environment.
• Experience of Planning and Implementation, tools and systems.
• Excellent ability to speak and write in English and at least one Indian Language for communicating with internal and external Stake holders. Knowledge of Gujarati language would be added advantage.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and Problem solving skills
• Should be tech savvy & comfortable computers & smart phone for day to day activities.
• Ability to work well with diverse teams from all backgrounds and levels.
• Strong technical skills in the domain area – CSR and Alternative Livelihood.
• Experience in capacity building (local partner from civil society & other stakeholder).
