2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:
Headquartered at Seattle, WA-USA, SightLife is the only non-profit global health
organization, focused solely on eliminating corneal blindness.
Working with surgeons in over 30 countries, SightLife and its Global Partners restore sight
to more than 20 men, women, and children each day. This is accomplished through
eye banks, which are centers for the recovery and placement of eye tissue used
in cornea transplants.
SightLife’s mission
is to eliminate corneal blindness globally, through partnerships with eye banks
in developing countries, where 90% of the world’s 10 million persons, estimated
to suffer from curable corneal blindness, live.
SightLife constituted
a small team of senior management and distribution professionals in India in
2010 for this purpose and building on the organization’s global expertise, has
successfully implemented a comprehensive program to support the development of
eye banks and corneal surgeons, across India.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
SightLife is
looking for a Project Manager, who
shall be initially tasked with overseeing the planning and building phase of
the organization’s new eye bank dedicated to eliminating corneal blindness in
India, being established in Lucknow.
The Project Manager shall be responsible for creating and
managing the schedule for the build-out phase of the eye-bank, including, but
not limited to, planning for real-estate and facilities, hiring and training
staff, managing marketing, communications and contracts. In addition s/he will
also project manage the pipeline of other potential eye banks SightLife is exploring to build
The incumbent should have experience in the multi-faceted design
of projects and coordinating with geographically dispersed stakeholders. S/he
should have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, cutting across
medical, facilities, marketing and business groups.
Key Responsibilities:
(1) Create and manage a detailed project plan for building and
launching SightLife’s first eye bank in Lucknow, including
major milestones, deliverables, and dependencies;
(2) Oversee different workstreams, led by SightLife Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), covering people, operations, marketing and IT and serve as the lead for real-estate and facilities and hospital relations, workstream efforts.
(3) Manage regular status meetings and reports, covering all involved in the project;
(4) Manage project risks, including contingency planning and making corrections for errors;
(5) Create a financial plan for the build and launch phase, ensuring that project financials and spending are in accordance with the plan;
(6) In addition to the build phase, manage detailed planning of the “launch” or grand opening, including but not limited to, opening day invites, events, and receptions, in conjunction with the marketing and communication lead;
(7) Drive executive reviews;
(8) Package up all project management and build phase supporting documents (eye bank blue prints, hiring job descriptions, training plans, marketing and communications plans and materials, etc.), with the outcome of creating a hard copy and virtual repository (on sharepoint), that can be used for future eye bank build outs, on completion of the project.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification:
Applicants should be Post Graduates in Business Management, or
equivalent, from a reputed institute.
Experience:
(1) Minimum six years of complex project management experience
comprising exposure to coordination across multiple business processes (viz.
Marketing, IT, Operations, etc.);
(2) Experience in build out and launch of facilities, is highly desirable.

Skills and Attributes:
(1) Well versed in project management templates and tools.
(2) Familiarity with marketing and PR components of project related work which shall comprise ability to work with marketing and PR leaders;

(6) Excellent project trade-off and negotiation skills;
(7) Ability to communicate with and motivate a cross-functional, geo-diverse team;
(8) Proven capability of coordinating dependencies and driving for results against timelines.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross annual compensation for the position is Rs.17 lacs and up,
depending on experience. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be
commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
6. LOCATION:
New Delhi (with frequent travel to Lucknow).
7. CONTRACT: Estimated
duration for the contract is likely to be one year, with possible extension.
