Position Title: Grants Manager

Brief on the Organization:
The Public Health Foundation of India
(PHFI) is working
towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited
institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and
training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and
practice in the area of Public Health. PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi
with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian
Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centres of Applied Research in core
public health themes. The Foundation, established in 2006 as a public private
initiative, is governed by an independent board comprising of senior government
officials, eminent Indian and International academic and leaders, civil society

Project Brief:
The Research
Grants Administration is a central unit of PHFI. Members of this unit assist
researchers and faculty members across PHFI and IIPH to make and submit
applications for funding. They liase between the PHFI memebrs and donor
agencies. They also liase between the Principal Investigatos at PHFI/IIPH,
finance department, legal department and HR.
Deliverables:
This person
would be in charge of overseeing and assisting Grants team members involved in:
- Identifying opportunities for grant funding.
- Coordinating various aspects during proposal development and its submission process.
- Assisting Principal Investigators (PIs) in collating information necessary for developing grants proposals including project information from grants team database.
- Collating concept papers into a single body of work and ensuring completed proposals are of the highest standards.
- Creating outlines, building templates, databases, preparing review drafts, scheduling and coordinating meetings between PIs and tracking the completion of assignments.
- Assist in various other responsibilities of the Grants Administration team.
- Liason with all departments and divisions at PHFI and IIPH is required.
- Helping PIs with technical reporting
Qualification:
Essential
Master degree
preferably in Finance, Economics, Public Health or Life Sciences with
experience of working in a funding/granting agency or academic setting involved
in grants management.
Experience:
Essential
Previous
experience of a minimum of 2 years in managing grants portfolio, developing
budgets and technical applications is essential.
Competencies / Skills set required:
Master degree
and at least two to three years’ experience in a funding agency or a granting
agency or an academic setting managing grants portfolio, some experience with
public health research proposal preparation and sponsored research award
management is an advantage; the person should be able to oversee technical and
financial aspects of an application (hence should be able to develop budgets
for grant proposals);
- The person must have keen eye for detail and skills in copy-editing, grammar, style, spelling and punctuation throughout the proposal development effort. Creative flair, knowledge of office productivity applications to production of high-calibre proposals;
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential when collaborating with diverse groups;
- Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Ability to work independently;
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities;
- Excellent management and organizational skills.;
Annual Salary
(CTC) will commensurate with the available skills and fitment of the incumbent
as per the selection process.
