       SUMMARY:
The Finance Director reports to the National Director and is responsible for overall management of the Finance & Accounts function for ChildFund India. This role represents the financial management and accountability for ChildFund India’s including operations including a direct implementation model and a fully compliant and independent Indian entity (ChildFund India Society – henceforth referred to as Society). The job holder is responsible for all the statutory compliances of the organization and is able to give a strategic direction and guidance to the Finance Department in the organization.
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
        Finance & Accounts:
-         Develop and maintain systems for efficient financial management and cash management, ensuring up-to-date accounting policies and manuals that meet local compliance requirements and the requirements of the Regional Office (RO)/International Office (IO).
-         Lead the annual Operating Fund budget preparation process for ChildFund India operations taking inputs from all Divisions and effectively monitor the same, taking corrective actions as needed to maintain expenses within the approved budget
-         Ensure appropriate communication on financial matters with the Regional/International Offices.
-         Manage and monitor the financial performance of India Operations.
-         Ensure that appropriate financial statements are accurately produced and are analyzed to evaluate performance against targets (budgets/revenue) including for Society
-         Ensure that accounting manuals are updated and revised periodically
-         Direct all accounting activities and ensure financial control, technical accuracy, and validity of the general ledger and related financial information. 
-         Facilitate audit of accounts of the ChildFund India operations and internal audit of project partners, ensuring closure of all audit open issues/queries through adequate follow-up
 
Project Support:
-         Facilitate budget and financial planning process for the Projects (Clusters / partners). Ensure timely approval of their Annual and Supplementary Budgets.
-         Strengthen/develop systems and procedures for effective financial management in Project locations and build their capacities for the same
-         Make sure appropriate Guidelines, Manuals and Finance Management tools are provided to the field staff and the Project Partners. 
-         Oversee the treasury function including disbursement and utilization of project funds
 
Others:
-         Assist the National Director and SMT in identifying risk in terms of materiality of the program initiatives and develop systems and methods of managing such risk.
-         Manage the finance team effectively particularly ensuring the capacity building of the team members in the finance department.
-         Lead the process of Revenue Forecasting for ChildFund India Operations and work closely with Senior Management Team (SMT) to actively seek avenues for resource mobilization, cost control and optimization.
-         Work with the Grants Manager to ensure that ChildFund India has an effective grants financial management system that complies with Donor requirements and statutory provisions.
-         Coordinate/assist in ChildFund India’s emergency response work, as and when required by setting up appropriate financial systems and procedures.
-         Be actively engaged and responsible for all financial and legal matters connected with the National Office as well as Society
 
QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:
-          Professional Finance degree or equivalent qualification preferably a chartered accountant
-          At least 10 years of finance & accounting experience and at least 2 – 3 years in a leadership role in the development sector preferably in an international organization
-          Willingness to travel to remote locations and outside the country as required
