Senior Social Security Specialist- Unorganised Sector
Indo-German Social Security Programme, GIZ, New Delhi

1.POSITION VACANT:  Senior Social Security Specialist – Unorganised Sector (SSSS-US), Indo-German Social Security Programme, GIZ, New Delhi

In India, about 94% of the labour force works in the unorganised sector. The large majority of these workers do not have adequate social protection and they face the threat of chronic poverty, resulting from illness, old age, accidents or death. Several ministries and government agencies have initiated social security programmes, but benefit coverage has been limited, access to information restricted and relatively few informal workers and/or their families, have actually been included. Additionally, these approaches have been uncoordinated and fragmented.

The Indo-German Social Security Programme (IGSSP), being implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), a client of Strategic Alliance Management Services (SAMS), cooperates with India’s Central Ministry of Labour and Employment in implementing the Unorganised Sector Workers’ Social Security Act. In so doing, the programme is contributing to the improvement of the social security system for workers in the unorganised sector and their families.
