JOB SUMMARY:

The Finance Manager will provide support in all aspects of financial management of assigned ORBIS India Programs including grant management, financial accounting, resource management, detailed financial analysis, monitoring, reporting, liaison with donor agencies, key governmental officials and inter governmental bodies. In addition the Finance Manager will be also support to maintain the financial systems in the office and work closely with the Assistant Director – Finance & Operations. 


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To provide accounting support to the Assistant Director – Finance & Operations and assist in developing required financial systems for the office.
2. Handle day to day financial transactions, maintain books of accounts, verify travel statements, process travel statements for disbursement as ORBIS policies & guidelines. 
3. Prepare staff salary statement, deduct and deposit the applicable taxes with the local authorities.
4. Prepare monthly financial statements and report to Assistant Director – Finance & Operations in the prescribed accounting software and format. 
5. Prepare financial reports monthly, quarterly, annually as and when required.
6. Prepare documentation for procurement of equipment. 
7. Draft cash transfer requests required by Program Managers and Partner institutions.
8. Provide support in the preparation of annual budget of the India Program, including review and finalization of partner budgets. 
9. Assist in development and appraisal of new projects and the preparation of new proposals as requested by the Program Managers. 
10. Support in the preparation and finalization of regular monthly and quarterly financial reports to the Head Office and ensure that all reports are completed to the highest level of quality and submitted on time. 
11. Provide support to the Assistant Director – Finance & Operations and financial department for the preparation and implementation of internal and external audits and reviews. 
12. Provide support to build capacity of Partner institutions and ORBIS staff for better financial management. 
13. Provide support to co-ordinate with legal advisor concerning legal issues and the auditor for matter related to Reserve Bank of India.
14. Support in filing of tax returns for the liaison office on a timely basis and adherence to all applicable provisions of the Income tax Act, 1961. 
15. Any other duties as may be assigned by the Country Director.


CANDIDATE PROFILE (SKILL SET & QUALIFICATION) 

Skills and Competencies Required:

• The candidate should have a minimum 4 to 6 years progressive work experience in the development sector.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Hindi are required. Computer competency is required particularly of MS Excel, Word and Tally.
• Knowledge on issues related to legal frameworks for NGOs, grants management, budgeting, financial reporting, analysis and statutory compliances with Foreign Contribution Regulation Act and Income Tax regulations
• Should be competent to design and supervise a good MIS financial system

Reports to – Assistant Director – Finance & Operations 
Job Location – The post will be based in Gurgaon.
Education – Must be a MBA Finance / M. Com. / CA Inter with experience in budgeting and auditing. 
Compensation – Competitive, as per industry norms; shall not be constraint for right candidate.
