PURPOSE OF THE POST

Under the general supervision of the Chief-Resource Mobilization and direct supervision of Corporate Partnerships Specialist (CSR & Corporate Engagement), the incumbent will contribute to the delivery of the Corporate Social Responsibility and Corporate Engagement (non-financial partnerships with the corporate community) activities of UNICEF in India. This would be undertaken in alignment with the UNICEF’s global CSR framework and mandate, in support of UNICEF’s mission and objectives in the country. The broad mandate would be to enhance UNICEF’s role as a technical expert in the area of child focused CSR and leverage the private sector contribution and support, advocate for responsible business practices; in alignment with UNICEF India CSR and Corporate Engagement Strategy and plans. The position is also expected to provide technical inputs and create and contribute to activities in the areas of Business Responsibility and manage programmatic alliances with Corporates, Chambers of Commerce, Government and other national bodies and institutions, at all times working closely with internal UNICEF stakeholders. 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Internal CSR & Corporate Engagement Liaison: Mapping and tracking UNICEF India Country Offices internal needs for potential corporate engagement initiatives and CSR activities, in alignment with the Country Programme Action Plan results. Provide regular technical support, informative and corporate expert guidance to UNICEF State Offices on corporate engagement and CSR in complete alignment with UNCEF ICOs CSR and Corporate Engagement strategy and plans. Ensure a harmonious approach to the CSR activities and projects across all Field Offices in India. The task would also include leading the development of the necessary MoUs and other partnership instruments and modalities. (40%)
2. Contribute to CSR based Corporate Partnerships and their Management: Contribute to identification and scoping potential CSR based corporate partnership opportunities to support achieving results through the private sector, in line with the ICO programme priorities and section needs. Support development of and programme concept notes, presentations and MoUs with inputs from the relevant sections. Support effective and timely professional management of corporate partnerships and relations with potential, existing and past corporate partners. (20%)
3. Support Advocacy Efforts and Contribute Technical Inputs on CSR: Support ICO advocacy with Government of India, Industry Bodies and National think tanks on CSR/ Business Responsibility. This would include supporting efforts to expand UNICEF’s circle of partners and influencers on CSR and Corporate Engagement such as think tanks, industry bodies, CSR entities and academic institutions. (20%)
4. Documentation, monitoring and internal communications: Ensure that the CSR and CE activities are documented and shared internally and externally in an appropriate format. Facilitate documentation and sharing of lessons. Create systems for qualitative monitoring of CSR activities and lead the development of appropriate forms of documentation. This would also include tracking progress of MoUs and their execution. (15%)
5. Administrative and operational activities: Undertake all necessary administrative and operational activities related to MoUs, budgets, programme monitoring documents, compliance and other requirements, under the supervision of the CSR and Corporate Engagement Specialist. (5%)

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Education 
University degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Law, Economics, Sustainability, Child rights, Human Rights, Humanities, Sciences, Economics, Business Administration, Commerce or any other related field. Sound and Up-to-date knowledge of CSR, responsible business practices, sustainability issues, corporate partnership management and India’s prevailing CSR environment. 

Work Experience
Minimum 2 years of professional experience in the relevant field, programme implementation, programme development and monitoring with particular focus on CSR, Corporate Partnerships, Responsible Business Practices, Sustainability activities. 

Language Proficiency 
Fluency (oral and written) in English and Hindi.

• Global human rights issues, specifically relating to children and women, and current UNCEF position and approaches.
 UNICEF PFP goals, visions, positions, policies, guidelines and strategies.
 UNICEF policies and strategy to address national and international issues, including emergencies. 
 UNICEF emergency communication policies, goals, strategies and approaches, including emergency preparedness.

c) Technical Knowledge to be Acquired/Enhanced (for the Job) 
• Knowledge and expertise in corporate relations, fundraising and networking. 
• Technical competence in producing content for corporate community 
• UN policies and strategy to address international humanitarian issues and the responses.
