2. BACKGROUND:
Headquartered at Seattle, WA-USA, SightLife is the only non-profit global health
organization, focused solely on eliminating corneal blindness. As a US-based
INGO, SightLife partners with eye banks and surgeons
in developing countries to build their own capabilities and capacity to collect,
process, distribute corneas for transplant to the 10 million corneal blind
waiting to have their sight, livelihood and independence restored.
Working with surgeons in over 30 countries, SightLife and its Global Partners restore sight
to more than 20 men, women, and children each day. This is accomplished through
eye banks, which are centers for the recovery and placement of eye tissue used
in cornea transplants.
SightLife’s mission
is to eliminate corneal blindness globally, through partnerships with eye banks
in developing countries, where 90% of the world’s 10 million persons, estimated
to suffer from curable corneal blindness, live.
SightLife constituted
a small team of senior management and distribution professionals in India in
2010 for this purpose and building on the organization’s global expertise, has
successfully implemented a comprehensive program to support the development of
eye banks and corneal surgeons, across India.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
SIghtLife invites
applications from accomplished fundraising professionals, who want to join a
fast-paced, effective team, determined to eliminate corneal blindness in India
and around the globe.
Reporting to the Chief Development Officer in the US, with matrix reporting to
the Vice President of Asia,
based in New Delhi, the role shall be responsible for managing SightLife’s fundraising in India with the
potential for increased scope to include other parts of Asia. The ideal
candidate shall be a solid team player with high attention to detail, strong
project management skills, well-developed people skills, and experience in
fundraising for a mission-focused organization.
Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Develop and collaborate on strategies for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding philanthropic gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations/ trusts to drive SightLife’s work in India;
(2) Cultivate industry level associations such as CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM etc., to improve visibility ofSightLife and its work around eye banking;
(3) Maintain a system for donor prospect management to track prospects through the development pipeline;
(4) Research and identify prospective donors, with an emphasis on corporate prospects with CSR programs, that demonstrate potential alignment with SightLife’s work;
(5) Actively solicit cultivated prospects and prior donors for philanthropic gifts to SightLife;
(6) Work with communications staff at the US headquarters to create culturally-specific collateral materials and presentations for use in India;
(7) Ensure donors receive timely and accurate gift acknowledgements according to Indian charitable laws and regulations. Provide periodic performance updates to donors, ensuring continuity of relationship;
(8) Work with SightLife’s program team and partner eye banks to create stewardship elements, such as videos or stories, to keep donors engaged in the mission;
(9) Provide financial donors logistic support during visits; coordinate with account manager and local eye bank staff to ensure smooth field visits;
(10) Coordinate donor and gift recordkeeping with the Development Coordinator at US headquarters;
(11) Attend relevant conferences and events on behalf of SightLife.
(12) Regularly monitor the external environment and track developments in the field;
(13) In all daily activities, strive to support the Mission, Vision, and Values of SightLife;
(14) Strong computer skills, with the ability to independently create presentations and proposals.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification:
Applicants should be post graduates in Business Management, Marketing, Finance, Communication, or other relevant discipline. Graduates with exceptional relevant experience can also apply.

Gross compensation for the position is attractive. The offer made
to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience
