Headquartered at Seattle, WA-USA, SightLife is the only non-profit global health organization, focused solely on eliminating corneal blindness.
Working with surgeons in over 30 countries, SightLife and its Global Partners restore sight to more than 20 men, women, and children each day. This is accomplished through eye banks, which are centers for the recovery and placement of eye tissue used in cornea transplants.
SightLife’s mission is to eliminate corneal blindness globally, through partnerships with eye banks in developing countries, where 90% of the world’s 10 million persons, estimated to suffer from curable corneal blindness, live.
SightLife constituted a small team of senior management and distribution professionals in India in 2010 for this purpose and building on the organization’s global expertise, has successfully implemented a comprehensive program to support the development of eye banks and corneal surgeons, across India.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

SightLife Global is looking for a Hospital Coordinator for its Hospital Cornea Recovery Programme (HCRP).
Reporting to the Program Manager- HCRP, SightLife Global, the Hospital Coordinator shall be coordinating Delhi Centralized Hospital Cornea Recovery Project of the organization, primarily, supervising and monitoring Eye Donations Counselors (EDCs), and coordinating Hospital relationship building activities to ensure effectivity of Hospital Eye Donation program.

(A) Principal Accountabilities: 
(1) Supervise and Support Eye Donation Counselors (EDC):
(a) Provide operational direction to all Eye Donation Counselors, with input from Manager;
(b) Implement training and competency management program for new and existing EDCs;
(c) Implement professional development goals of EDCs;
(d) Counsel donor families on Eye Donation, if the occasion arises.
(2) Responsible for Hospital Transplant Targets
(a) Provide support in setting up new Hospital sites for the project;
(b) Manage new and on-going Hospitals Eye Donation Program as per set goals and expectations;
(c) Maintain and develop relationships with hospital staff;

(3) Assist recruitment of eye donation counselors and assisting the Manager in screening and selecting new EDCs for alignment with organizational mission, objectives, culture, and potential to contribute to growth of the Project.
(4) Developing and strengthening Hospital Relationships:
(a) Coordinate Hospital Services (Relationship building at hospitals) to increase timely notification of all potential donors (deaths), and to allow proper access to approach donor families for donation;
(b) Create new hospital relationships and new relationships within existing hospitals.
(5) Provide on-the job skills, professional and personal development skills training to EDCs in conjunction with Manager;

(6) Provide scheduled daily, monthly and annual data to manager on all Project activities. Collects and reports other data/information requested from time to time.
(B) Additional Responsibilities:
(1) Professional Development – allocate time and resources to enhance skills which directly improve ability to complete job functions for self and for staff;
(2) Promote the mission, vision and values of the organization;
(3) Travel to meetings and conferences in India and outside as required;
(4) Attend three weeks training at RIEB, Hyderabad within 90 days of employment;
(5) Perform various job functions as needed or as may be necessary in an organization having overlapping roles and responsibilities.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:        
Qualification:
The applicant must possess minimum a Bachelors degree. Masters degree shall be preferred.
Experience:
(1) Minimum two years’ line management experience with focus on leading and mentoring teams;
(2) Healthcare experience shall be preferred.
Skills and Attributes:
(1) Excellent communication skill with fluency in English and Hindi
(2) Computer skill- email, spreadsheet, word processing, online data filling;
(3) Ability to travel 60% of the time within Delhi;
(4) Passionate and affirmation of intent to be an Organ/Tissue/Eye donor;
(5) High levels of ethics and integrity.
5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross compensation for the position is attractive. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
