Program Overview
Pathfinder began working in India in the 1950s and expanded family planning services throughout the 1970s. Currently Pathfinder is implementing reproductive health and family planning projects in the states of Bihar and Rajasthan; maternal and newborn health projects in Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Bihar and Odisha; and HIV and AIDS work in Maharashtra. Pathfinder is in the process of establishing the India office as a registered local organization affiliated with Pathfinder International. Pathfinder’s strategy in India focuses on supporting the reproductive health and rights of underserved and vulnerable populations. Pathfinder supports the Government of India and its partners to increase demand for family planning, reproductive health, and maternal health services, while equipping and empowering health care providers and communities to better address adolescent health, maternal child health, unsafe abortion, and HIV and AIDS.

Project: The focus of the Project is to improve access to essential and emergency obstetric care services in select districts of Uttar Pradesh (Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat and Kannauj), through community and clinical approaches. The project proposes to foster collaboration between public and private sectors through the creation of a network of private providers and establishing referral mechanisms from and to the public sector as appropriate. The project entails capacity building, community awareness, quality assurance and strong advocacy.
Position Purpose
This position will be under the direct supervision of State Project Manager (SPM) and will be responsible for project related data collection, compilation and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely collection of data from the project districts on agreed-upon indicators
  • Periodically compile all data, analyze and prepare reports and presentations for use by project team members internally and at government meetings
  • Support in capacity building of project team members on data collection, compilation, automation and analysis
  • Undertake supportive supervision of district-level teams with a view to monitor quality of data collected, and to address bottlenecks in data collection
  • Support in project documentation such as the quarterly, annual reports, technical & policy brief, newsletter, publications, brochures, and website updates
  • Coordinate with partners on data sharing and dissemination
  • Any other responsibility/task as assigned by the supervisor.
Basic Requirements
Professional Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in Statistics/MSW or any other equivalent degree.
  • A database management course will be an added advantage.
  • Three to five years of experience in Public health.
Professional & Personal Competencies
  • Excellent data analysis and documentation skills.
  • Complete knowledge of software packages, like, SPSS, MS Office (Excel).
  • Written and verbal fluency in English and Hindi.
  • Willing to travel (5 – 7 days days) in project intervention areas in Uttar Pradesh.
