Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) India is an independent non-profit Trust, registered in India in 1998, and part of the CAF International Network having offices in the UK, USA, Russia, Bulgaria, Australia, Brazil, South Africa and India. The mission of CAF network is to promote strategic giving. Globally, we work with over 3,000 companies and manage over £2.5bn for non-profits and donors, supporting non-profit organizations in over 90 countries. CAF network across the world harnesses local knowledge and expertise to design solutions specifically for the benefit of your business and the communities in which you operate

In India, CAF is partnering with over 50 Corporates, 30000 individuals, 300 NGOs, supporting over 500 projects across the country. We have more than 15 years of experience of corporate advisory, design and delivery of programs for providing innovative solution driven response to various social initiatives. We have a robust NGO due diligence program and have more than 1800 validated NGOs. Our Giving products include payroll giving, corporate CSR, grant making, Trust Fund etc. 
CAF India is looking for a senior, business development professional, for the post of Head of Fundraising. We are seeking a seasoned professional with experience in strategic fundraising, donor acquisition, development and retention and knowledge of fundraising market. 

The incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase the flow of resources from donors and institutions for the charitable cause. S/he would build upon the existing fund raising streams within CAF India and establish new ones. 

Main purpose of job: 

i. To lead and further grow CAF’s business development work, taking the existing fundraising model to scale 
ii. To focus on strategic business planning and build business development which deepens current client relationships, develops new ones and generates increased revenue and growth in fundraising.
iii. To represent CAF externally and increase reputation in the market as a center of excellence for donors and NGO sector partnership.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

STRATEGY

1. Provide clear vision and leadership for how Fundraising can develop in the next three to five years. 
2. Develop and implement a strategy and scalable business development model for financial growth within CAF India 
3. Develop a business development framework around the CAF India key giving products for corporate and individual donors
4. Revisit and strengthen the current business development approach of various products (Corporate Account, GAYE, Trust Fund etc.)
5. Innovate, develop and support new fundraising products to broad-based CAF streams of fundraising 
6. Develop and support innovative partnerships under various corporate CSR initiatives 
7. Develop a strategy for regional fundraising and expansion of CAF
8. Provide advisory to corporate and NGO clients

MANAGEMENT

1. Set fund raising priorities, goals and budget and quarterly action plans 
2. Provide leadership and management to a strong team of Managers to support them to implement their fundraising plan, achieve individual targets, and develop their relationships with companies/ other donors. 
3. Research and identify potential donors, cultivate potential donors and communicate with current donors for increased ‘giving’ by corporates through the organization
4. Develop new and existing corporate client relationships in the area of Advisory 
5. Write proposals and presentations to pitch for business development 
6. Lead client meetings and provide follow up support
7. Develop contact and network in the different types/range of companies, including Small and Medium size enterprises
8. Provide guidance to companies on developing CSR policies, partnerships with CSOs and training to companies on development sector issues
9. Support NGO advisory team on NGO capacity building programs in relation to job role
10. Lead on international fund raising projects
11. Build capacity of the internal business development team
12. Responsible for day-to-day administration of fundraising team including tracking and updating target vs achievement, keeping records up-to-date.
13. Ensure the right skills and resources are in place to deliver against the fund raising plan 
14. Work closely with other units of CAF, particularly the Programs, marketing & communications, Finance, regional representatives/offices, and CAF’s global alliance to ensure CAF fundraising is represented and positioned appropriately
15. Conceptualize fundraising campaigns. Also, prepare fundraising marketing material and content with the Communications team
16. Effectively use digital media such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Blogs to raise CAF India visibility
17. Supervise the creation and maintenance of a database of all donors, including, potential corporate donors 

THOUGHT LEADERSHIP & EXTERNAL REPRESENTATION

1. Proactively seek out opportunities to represent CAF externally in India on issues relating to strategic and effective giving, philanthropy, corporate community investment and social investment and social impact
2. Represent CAF India at various national and international forums in the fundraising and corporate philanthropy space
3. Work closely with CAF Global Alliance on strategy and delivery models
4. Help grow and strengthen CAF’s brand and reputation as a provider of strategic advice and thought leadership, demonstrating how we add value to our corporate clients 
5. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Job Related Competencies 

Candidates would ideally have had exposure to both the private sectors companies and non-profits. Candidates will be entrepreneurial with strong commercial skills and a passionate belief in delivering impact.

• 10+ years of experience on delivering a range of Corporate fundraising, working with CSR teams in an agency or business setting
• Proven track record in developing, delivering, managing CSR/CCI projects
• Strong understanding of the Companies Act 2013 and related socio- legal and policy environment governing CSR in India. 
• Experience of strategic planning and business modeling, ideally in a cross-sectoral, multi-disciplinary field
• Strong proposal writing skills and experience of working with (financial and/or impact) target driven business models with excellent skills on power point presentation development
• Strong management, influencing and negotiating skills 
• Deep understanding of the role of philanthropic capital (either private or corporate) in achieving social impact and change
• Proven understanding of effective philanthropy
• Excellent communication skills including the gravitas to represent CAF at the highest level within companies and governments and to speak publically and confidently about philanthropy with Corporates and at events. 
• Proven experience of strategic thinking, development of thought leadership and intellectual rigor. 
• Good attention to detail and able to deliver high-quality written outputs 
• Proven ability to inspire and lead a passionate and intelligent team. 
• Flexibility to travel and attend meetings out of normal working hours.
