Job Purpose 
Provide management support to and build the capacity of the Programme Staff to ensure that SC India’s programme goals, objectives and policies are successfully implemented through the projects/programmes at the state level.  Act as an interface between the National Office of SC India and the state programme team, key stakeholders at the state including Govt. departments and NGO Partners.

This position is specifically related to a program entitled “Child rights for Change” aimed at eliminating child labour in the major cotton growing states of India and to render the use of child labour in cotton and cotton seed farms socially and economically unacceptable.   

Main Responsibilities: 


1.    Design and implement effective BCC/IEC communication materials to increase awareness on key thematic issues among the target groups.
2.    Support the State teams in field testing the IEC materials.
3.    Follows up on the production of communication materials (e.g., films, video, audio-visual, etc.), and oversees the qualitative aspects of production, (e.g., quality control, translation, review of layouts and graphic design)
4.    Highlight opportunities for public communication to the Media Manager
5.    Maintain relationship with donor and meet donor requirements
6.    Perform other related duties as required.

Professional qualifications:

University degree with experience and training/courses in development communications or other related fields, or relevant professional experience with emphasis on participatory communication, communication planning and social mobilisation.  

Work Experience:

•    The candidate must have at least five years progressive experience in non-profit development communications with practical experience in the application of communication planning processes to specific programmes. 
•    The candidate must be a proven communicator with excellent oral and written communication skills.

Languages:

Fluency in English and Hindi required

Competencies: 

• Knowledge of current developments in the fields of communication for development, community organization and participation. Knowledge of the use and application of channels of communication such as community radio, theatre for development, etc.
• Ability to express clearly and concisely ideas and concepts in written and oral form.
