3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job Summary:
MSI is seeking to hire a Clinical Services Director (CSD) for the efficient and effective development, management and steady growth of high-quality, cost-effective family planning and reproductive health services, through static, social franchise, and outreach service delivery facilities.
Reporting to the Country Director, the incumbent will have overall responsibility for ensuring that service facilities in India adhere to the organization’s standards, as well as national guidelines. S/he shall provide professional, high-quality and effective clinical and management leadership and guidance, ensuring that staff understand and follow the organization’s current protocols. S/he will also work closely with other senior team members to achieve organizational goals and objectives. The position involves frequent and extended travel to remote locations in India.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Quality Assurance & Monitoring:
Ensuring client’s needs are met promptly and efficiently with the provision of high quality, professional services at all times:
(1) Ensuring medical teams are appropriately staffed and maintained;
(2) Developing, improving and monitoring service delivery standards and client satisfaction;
(3) Developing systems to ensure static and outreach service delivery teams are equipped with adequate supply of appropriate equipment and clinical supplies: All clinical supplies, instruments, furniture’s, stocks supplies are adequate and appropriate recording is being done for proper inventory control;
(4) Developing systems to maintain proper records of clients at static and outreach service delivery facilities;
(5) Ensuring efficient management of all complications and complaints including response times by the medical teams.
B. Training and Capacity Development of Medical Teams
Ensuring medical team members understand organizational goals and objectives and that they are adequately trained to provide high quality professional services:
(1) Ensuring that skill requirements are identified and that Medical Team members receive appropriate training to support them in performing well in their roles;
(2) Arranging and providing identified training on an ongoing basis with emphasis on staff having access to up-to-date manuals of protocols, including clinical procedures, treatment, advice, safety, infection prevention etc.;
(3)Identifying appropriate training needs and arrange for training staff/ franchisee providers and staff for delivering quality services;
(4) Ensuring the work of the Medical team ensures smooth implementation of programme activities;
(5)Ensuring adherence to organisational goals at all levels of service delivery.
C. Internal Controls and Monitoring
Ensuring robust information and control systems are in place and used to provide feedback and stimulate action:
(1) Ensuring mechanisms for clinical controls and MIS systems for clinical services are in place and being implemented effectively;
(2) Performing internal audit and monitoring of quality in all service delivery channels.
D. Contribute and Work Closely with Operations Department
Identifying, planning and ensuring sustainability of new static centres (owned / franchised centres) and mobile services facilities:
(1) Contributing in developing referral networks to enable other NGOs, private clinics, public hospitals to refer clients;  Working with  state  team’s and meeting local private providers for training and accreditation, meeting public hospital doctors and local NGOs and trying to build referral networks along with field staff;
(2) Enhancing organizational visibility to medical fraternity and the government at the regional and national levels; Attending meetings related to family planning and safe abortions e.g. ARC meetings, WRAI meetings and national and regional/state conferences, whenever possible;
(3) Contributing to the development and review of communication materials in coordination with Marketing & Communications teams; Helping the Marketing & Communication team in the development of communication materials like fliers, Flip Charts, Newsletters etc., used for demand generation activities.
E. Other Responsibilities
(1) Identifying consultants and trainers, preparing their TOR’s and managing their performance;
(2) Developing/ adapting training curriculum, materials and technical materials required by the program;
(3) Supervision of State Clinical Services Managers;
(4) Engaging with Regional and Global Medical Development Teams;
(5) Preparing all QA reports and related documents;
(5) Providing strategic inputs to country programs.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification:
(1) MBBS, preferably with a post graduate qualification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
(2) Additional qualifications in Public Health/ Management/ Business shall be preferred
Experience:
(1) Technical/ clinical competence in the delivery SRH & FP services;
(1) 12-15 years of relevant experience, with around four to five years managerial experience of handling similar responsibilities.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
The budgeted compensation for the position is attractive. Please note that the offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
