1. POSITION VACANT: Head of Resource Mobilization (HRM), Wadhwani Initiative for
Sustainable Healthcare (WISH), New Delhi
2. BACKGROUND:
The
multitude of health problems and poor health indicators notwithstanding, India
has a vibrant healthcare ecosystem with hundreds of activists, entrepreneurs
and institutions initiating programmes and experimenting with processes, to
improve health outcomes.
The Wadhwani
Initiative for Sustainable Healthcare* (WISH), is a not-for-profit initiative
to strengthen and support these people and institutions, across the for-profit
and not-for-profit sectors. WISH strives to streamline the evolving
healthcare innovation eco-system, to reduce inefficiencies, channelize growth
momentum and ensure alignment with government policy. WISH is championed by Mr Sunil Wadhwani,
Chairman and Co-Founder, iGate Corporation, USA.

WISH fosters healthcare
innovation, supports high-impact scalable organizations, mobilizes resources of
key stakeholders, involves end users in the innovation process and builds
evidence on interventions that improve health outcomes for the rural and urban
poor in India. It provides a unique platform to leverage the best of the
for-profit and not-for-profit sectors for identifying, supporting and
strengthening healthcare solutions for the bottom of the pyramid (BOP)
population.
Primary
services provided under the WISH initiative include ecosystem building
through workshops, conferences and innovation labs; Blended capital financing
and a shared services platform for entrepreneurs to access legal, technical and
support expertise. WISH carries out rigorous, evidence-based
technical evaluation and research and shares results through an interactive
Knowledge Hub.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Head
of Resource Mobilization (HRM) shall work closely with the CEO, Founding
Donor and Board
of Trustees, to develop and implement innovative resource
mobilization strategies which shall include grants from institutional donors
and corporates, enabling the growth and scaling-up of WISH programs and the fulfilment of its
mission.
The HRM should be familiar with new age
funding models available to innovative health projects and have the ability to
independently write and mature large institutional funding proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
(1) Researching and identifying potential funding opportunities from social equity funds, institutional donors and corporates;
(2) Developing and operationalizing a strategy for social equity funding, donor acquisition and retention;
(3) Writing customized concept notes, project ideas and project proposals and ensuring their timely submission;
(4) Adapting, customizing and aligning projects undertaken by the organization, with the mandate of donors;
(5) Identifying and building contacts with Government/ Corporate/ PSUs/ Social Equity Funds and Institutional Donor organizations, who will fund the various projects of the organization;
(6) Identifying key persons at social equity funds and donor organizations and connecting with them through various communication channels;
(7) Undertaking independent research to identify alternative resources for the long-term sustainability of the organization;
(8) Maintaining relationships with existing social equity funds and donors, responding to their requests and keeping them updated about the work of the organization;
(9) Managing strategic relationships with key social equity funds and donor agencies through multiple action steps encompassing:
(a) Organizing meetings at a regular periodicity;
(b) Following-up for the renewal of grants or fresh grants or fresh funding;
(c) Keeping track of grants and funding;
(10) Setting-up and leading the resource mobilization team with clear and defined goals; Monitoring and tracking team performance on a monthly basis; Providing performance updates to the CEO and facilitating regular training of the team for skill-set enhancement;
(11) Presenting business plans and yearly updates to the Board Members;
(12) Engaging with the Communications Officer to plan appropriate communication strategies for donors;
(13) Tracking business development efforts, ensuring intensive and personal follow-up of all warm and cold leads till conversion;
(14) Representing WISH at forums and networks with sector/ non-sectoral representatives for greater outreach.

4. QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification:
Post Graduate Degree/ Diploma in Management, Commerce, Social Sciences, or any other related field, from a reputed institute.

Experience:
(1) Minimum 12 years experience with social equity funds and/or donor fund raising/ business development/ resource mobilization;
(2) Proven track record of establishing high value partnerships;
(3) Experience of networking, negotiating and influencing, at a senior level and with high profile clients;
(4) Good knowledge of the social development sector;
(5) Well versed with grant-making systems and procedures of donors and multilateral agencies.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
The
gross annual remuneration budgeted for the position ranges between Rs. 22 to 25
lacs per annum.The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate
with qualifications, experience and salary history.
6. CONTRACTUAL EMPLOYMENT: The successful candidate shall be offered three years contract,
extendable based on performance.
