Oxfam International was founded in 1995 and today it is a confederation of 17 individual affiliates working together under the Oxfam International umbrella with over 3,000 partners in over a 100 countries with the aim of finding lasting solutions to poverty and injustice. REASON FOR HIRE:

Oxfam attaches great importance to an efficient and effective delivery of program and in diversifying its donor base. The Director Fundraising is a key position that will support the team members in India, in raising resources. The role focuses on raising funds from the individuals and corporate organisations.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic leadership


• Raise and meet ambitious fund-raising targets for the organization through individuals and corporates (public and private sector). 
• Provide strategic leadership to organization as a member of the senior leadership team of a growing organization. 
• Develop a longer term vision and strategy for marketing and fundraising which engages a wider range of stakeholders.
• Develop short term goals in line with the overall long term marketing strategy 
• Positioning of Oxfam in relevant external forums, with donors, corporate, Industry associations, civil society and the media.
• Engage and work with the Board of Directors and its Fund Raising Committee to implement their directional inputs.

Management


• Ensure development and implementation of the fundraising strategy for meeting income targets. 
• Evaluate trends in the fund raising market and accordingly design & mix activities, products and related campaigns & events.
• Effectively use social media to reach out to stakeholders. 
• Develop and implement effective systems and processes for fundraising and donor relations. Overall responsibility for managing donor relationships. 
• Manage the Oxfam brand with the aim of enhancing brand value / recall in India through innovative marketing techniques. 
• Overall responsibility of capacity building of all Fundraising staff and their motivation and employee satisfaction.
• Build team capabilities and understanding of Oxfam values.
• Overall responsibility for developing & achieving of annual marketing budget. Ensure the effective use and proper administration of marketing and fundraising resources for agreed purposes.
• Ability to strategize & envision long term growth path for fundraising department in line with overall Oxfam goals and be able to convert it into a systematic implementation plan.

Operational


• Develop fund raising targets for department, self and team
• Monitor targets defined.
• Evaluate deviations and take timely corrective action
• Develop various product offering and channels, operationalise them and monitor their performance
• Report to Management and Board as per defined & agreed norms
• Coordinate with other departments for effective implementation of donor commitments and timely reporting
• Develop mechanisms of effective donor servicing
• Grow the organization from current level to double its size in 3-5 years.

• Excellent inter-personal skills and negotiation abilities.

CANDIDATE PROFILE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Must Haves:

• Minimum 15 years of experience of which at least 3 years is at a leadership/senior management level in a growing development organization with a successful record in leading and managing fundraising and/or sales strategies and teams. 
• A good understanding of the donor profiling and consumer behavior in a changing society.
• Strong numeracy and ability to interpret financial data, budget and to monitor income and expenditure. 
• Understanding of different fundraising channels like key account sales, DRTV, Face 2 Face, Telemarketing, Direct Mail, online, etc. 
• Demonstrated experience in managing and motivating a large (150 team members spread across 7 offices) delivery oriented team
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
