Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (India) is a non-denominational, non-government organization. 

AKRSP (I) was established in Gujarat in 1984 and it seeks to contribute to rural poverty reduction through community involvement and empowerment that leads to the efficient management and improved productivity of natural resources. 

• Position: Area Manager 

• Location: Netrang, South Gujarat 

• Education: Post graduate in Social Science /Rural management/ Agriculture

• Experience: 5 years field experience and 2 to 3 years experience in handling multi disciplinary team and implementation of projects related to agriculture extension, community institutions especially women CBOS and/or local self governance. Working experience in tribal areas/communities would be given priority.

Skills & Competencies required:
• Must be fluent in English, Hindi & Gujarati language
• Good basic finance knowledge and computer skill 
• Good analytical skills and understanding of rural issues
• Good team management skills
• Good managerial skill for fund mobilization & Donors management
• Good liaison skill to work with Government & Donors
• Ability to network with other NGOs and CBOs

Job Profile:
• Responsible for heading the team of more than 30 staff.
• Provide leadership to team for:
• Conceptual clarity on development work
• Build linkages/alliances with NGOs/rural communities / panchayats /villages lenders.
• Participatory processes with communities special tribal communities
• Resolving conflicts with all the stakeholders.
• Motivating team members to deliver optimum outcomes.
• Build organization and establish systems for smooth functioning.
• Efficient and cost effective implementation of the project.
• Developing systems and policies for promoting team work in the organization. 
• Developing conducive working environment and healthy organizational climate and cost effective planning.
• Team Management- Analyzing competence, strength, weaknesses of team members, handling administration and accounts issues, coordination among team members, developing and motivating subordinates and giving feedback to team members. 
• Develop conceptual clarity of the Organization vision, mission & objectives to team on long term development issues and ensuring the peoples participation in programmes.
