Public Health Foundation of India, is a public private initiative that has
collaboratively evolved through consultations with multiple constituencies
including Indian and international academia, state and central governments,
multi & bi-lateral agencies and civil society groups.
PHFI is a response to
redress the limited institutional capacity in India for strengthening training,
research and policy development in the area of Public Health.
Structured as an
independent foundation, PHFI adopts a broad, integrative approach to public
health, tailoring its endeavours to Indian conditions and bearing relevance to
countries facing similar challenges and concerns. The PHFI focuses on broad
dimensions of public health that encompass promotive, preventive and
therapeutic services, many of which are frequently lost sight of in policy
planning as well as in popular understanding.
The Prime Minister of
India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, launched PHFI on March 28, 2006 at New Delhi. PHFI
recognizes the fact that meeting the shortfall of health professionals is
imperative to a sustained and holistic response to the public health concerns
in the country which in turn requires health care to be addressed not only from
the scientific perspective of what works, but also from the social perspective
of, who needs it the most.
Job Description / Responsibilities:
The Assistant Manager
(Administration) will report to, and work under the direct supervision of, the
Senior Manager of Administration Division and be responsible for the following
duties:
- Executes plans, policies, and programs in business and financial affairs.
- Will take overall responsibility for all administrative activities.
- Develops budget recommendations for operating expenditures and/or capital outlay, personal services, equipment and materials, and maintains proper records.
- Administer the daily office operations and coordinate logistic requirements for the office.
- Oversees and ensure that the inventory of the equipment/goods/stationery for the company.
- Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees.
- Organize National and International conferences/workshops/meeting etc.
- Coordinate and participate tendering/procurement process.
- Prepare/Maintain records, reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work.
- Identifies staff development and training needs and ensures that training is obtained.
- Consults with operating officials on program plans in relation to fiscal capacity.
- Performs related work as assigned
Qualifications and traits required
- Essential: Post-graduate degree or MBA or Admin related
- 5- 7 Years of experience in relevant field
- Experience in NGOs will be an added advantage
- Effective Communication skills
- Good Interpersonal skills:
- Ability to work in cross cultural teams
- Ability to plan, conceptualize and organize
- Ability to effectively lead and mentor the team:
- Ability to manage the team’s performance
- Ability to make logical decisions and ensure transparency
