Project Brief:
There is a global push to strengthen monitoring of RMNCH spending. The Countdown to 2015 is one of the processes whereby expenditure data is consolidated and reported. One of the main objectives of this project is to outline a process to track government expenditures for child, maternal and reproductive health as part of routine monitoring. The Goal of the project is to provide financial risk protection to priority population involving RMNCH+A and tuberculosis related services among India’s rural and urban poor. This will be achieved through realizing two main objectives:
  • Generating evidence on healthcare financing to better inform policies and programs that would influence RMNCH+A & Tuberculosis services and
  • Testing integrating health financing models in planning process so as to strengthen health systems and improve RMNCH+A and Tuberculosis services.
The project also aims at Identifying opportunities, challenges and barriers which are likely to facilitate scale-up of innovative and sustainable health financing solutions leading to improved financial risk protection. The project has a specific focus also on RMNCH+A and it will help in better investments for maternal and child health related programs and systems and decrease OOP in vulnerable population in India.

Job Description / Responsibilities:
  • The Database Administrator will be responsible for the following activities:
  • The DBA will report to the Core Team and will be mainly responsible for developing and maintaining health economics data repository (Web-based).
  • Convert unstructured data into structured data for reports and analysis.
  • Assisting core team in day to-day operations involving database management and analysis;
  • The assignment involves pulling large amounts of data from various data repositories and warehouse, to create reports and dashboards for public dissemination.
  • To develop data collection interface for national health accounts and state health accounts.
  • Basic understanding of financial data is required.
  • Facilitate Core Team in the design and compilation of several database;
  • Facilitate PHFI Core Team in launching Health Financing Database Repository;
  • The position will be based in Delhi, but may be required to travel to partner institutions within the country;
  • Any other activities as required by the project.
Qualifications / Experience and skills required
  • At least Post-Graduate in Finance/Commerce/Management/Public Health;
  • Formal qualifications in database management is must;
  • Candidates with 3-5 year experience in large database administration and online maintenance are preferred.
  • Through knowledge and expertise in My SQL, MS Access, MS SQL is must.
  • Experience in development of online data repository will be added advantage.
