2. BACKGROUND: ICCo India, affiliated to ICCO Cooperation, the Netherlands, was registered as a not-for-profit trust in India in 2008. The ICCO Cooperation is a Global development organization working in 44 countries across the globe.

ICCo India is looking for a young but experienced climate professional to
support their Fair Climate Program (FCP) which is endeavoring to make
the ‘Carbon Markets’ work for the poor in India. FCP works through the strategies of Civil
Society Strengthening, Poverty Alleviation and Policy Influencing from the
perspective of ‘Fair Climate’ and has been supporting mitigation projects on
bio-gas, smokeless cooking stoves, photovoltaic lamps, hydro power projects,
etc.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Program Manager- Fair Climate Program
(PM- FCP), the Assistant Program Manager- Fair
Climate Program (APM- FCP) is
a mid-level position, primarily providing technical
and operational support. S/he shall also work closely with the partners and
stakeholders to bridge gaps and identify
opportunities for partnerships.
The APM-FCP shall support the effective management
of programs and projects in the ‘climate’ thematic area, analyze political,
social and economic trends and support the formulation, management and
evaluation of activities relating to the program portfolio.
Key Job Responsibilities:
A) Technical and Operational Support:
(1) Providing strategic support for ensuring adherence to
prescribed ICCo processes for program development and
management;
(2) Providing technical and operational inputs, ensuring smooth implementation of the program;
(3) Providing program inputs to PM- FCP based on reports, partner visits and changes in the external environment in terms of updated new/ emerging knowledge on priority themes for organizational learning, programmers understanding, approaches and documentation;
(4) Assisting the PM- FCP with program documentation and communication within and outside the organization;
(5) Working jointly with the Program and Finance Officers in ensuring smooth program management;
(6) Ensuring quality and timely reporting of projects;
(7) Contributing towards the preparation of ‘program updates’ for external as well as internal communication, as and when required;
(8) Supporting the Finance Officer in ensuring quality financial reporting to donors including project related organizational documents, fund transfers, audit reports, etc;

(9) Assisting the PM- FCP with follow up communication with
partners and stakeholders;
(10) Developing, reviewing and providing feedback on project proposals to the PM- FCP, collecting and analyzing relevant materials; making short write-ups and presentations to the Program Team, etc.;
(11) Responsible for NGO due diligence by analyzing both programmatic and financial aspects of the NGO partners;
(12) Serving as a ‘Liaison’ between partners and stakeholders;
(13) Helping mature identified opportunities for partnership with the private sector on pro-poor program development and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR);
(14) Developing a portfolio of ‘Private Sector Engagement’ interventions of relevance to the program by partnering with various corporates/ private firms;
(15) Undertaking monitoring and evaluation visits to partners;
(16) Maintaining a complete data base of partners and stakeholders relevant to the program.

workshops, undertaking related documentation and communication for all events
relating to the program;
(18) Actively supporting fund raising initiatives;
(19) Representing ICCo at relevant conferences and events;
(20) Performing any other relevant duties, as assigned by the supervisor.

4. QUALIFICATIONS,
EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification:
Post Graduate degree/ diploma in Environmental Sciences/ Climate
Change and/ or any other related field.
Experience:
(1) Minimum three years experience of managing the entire project
cycle, including the provision of technical and operational support;
(2) Prior experience of managing projects relating to climate, mitigation and adaptation is essential;
(3) Candidates having experience/ knowledge of ‘carbon financing’ shall be at an advantage.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
The gross remuneration budgeted for this position ranges from Rs.
5 to 6 lacs per annum, with some scope for improvement in the case of
exceptional talent. Offers shall be commensurate with the qualifications,
experience and salary history, of the selected candidate.
6. CONTRACTUAL EMPLOYMENT:
The successful candidate shall be initially offered a one year
contract, extendable, based on performance.
