Duties and Responsibilities
The Programme Manager will play a significant role in
ActionAid’s work. S/he will be responsible for coordinating the management of
all projects in the region, resources, training/ capacity building of human
resources in the projects. S/He will report to the Regional Manager and assist
the Regional Manager in matters relating to programme, policy advocacy,
networking, alliance building, fundraising, statutory compliances including
audit follow-up etc.
Key Responsibilities include:-
- Assisting the Regional Manager in matters relating to advocacy, networking, alliance building, programme audit and other activities/interventions.
- Exploring the feasibility of new partnerships and growth in the Region through identification of compatible partners (NGOs, CBOs, Activists etc.,) and their networks through consultation and consensus building.
- Responsibility to develop proposal for donor funded projects in coordination with the team and ensure implementation of such projects
- Coordinating and supporting management of DAs and NFs in the Region, ensuring high quality programme delivery in line with ALPS and GMF.
- Supporting and facilitating the Planning and Budgeting process, PRRPs and other strategic exercises in the Region.
- Supporting in other reporting requirements (partnership / fund raising project related etc.,) of the Regional Office.
- Ensuring effective sponsorship communication through high quality reporting of newsletters, Child Messages etc., as per the timelines.
- Facilitating capacity building of people in the projects.
- Responsible to coordinate work relating to campaigns at the regional level
- Any other responsibilities as assigned by the line manager.

Skills and Competencies
- be a Post Graduate in Social Sciences/Social Work/Rural Development/ Management.
- have at least 5 years experience of managing development projects.
- have sound knowledge of macro/micro development issues relating to India.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) in English; knowledge of local language is desirable.
- Gender sensitive and strong conviction and skills for the empowerment of the poor and disadvantaged groups.
- Excellent understanding of local/ regional level issues pertaining to social groups like Dalits, Muslims and others.
- Should have good documentation skills and be proficient in basic computer applications like Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Willingness to undertake extensive travel in difficult circumstances and terrain.
Salary & Benefits
Approx -INR6.6 Lakhs CTO (Cost to Organisation)– per annum - this includes PF
contribution.
In addition, other benefits - Group Medical Insurance with
coverage of Staff & Dependents; Personal Accident Insurance of staff and
gratuity is payable as per law and norms of the organisation.
