American India Foundation Trust

Location: Delhi

Working
closely with local communities, AIF partners with NGOs to develop and test innovative
solutions and with governments to create and scale sustainable impact. Founded in 2001 at
the initiative of President Bill Clinton, AIF has impacted the lives of more than 1.9 million of
India’s poor and aims to reach 5 million by 2018.

Duties and Responsibilities

The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Maintain up-to-date book keeping and account records; entering invoices, vouchers, tracking donations and other day to day activity entries
  • Develop and maintain financial database within excel, Tally and other software
  • Communicating with banks for disbursements to partners, vendors, staff and other payees
  • Ensure management of filing systems and maintaining office records and registers
  • Prepare bank reconciliations on monthly basis
  • Responsible for review of supporting documentation and timely payment of program expenses as well as office operation costs, e.g. rent, electricity, water, telephone etc.
  • Deduction of TDS as per applicable law and ensuring timely payment of TDS on
  • different accounts on monthly basis
  • Prepare data for filing of quarterly and annual TDS returns to the department and submission of TDS returns to the department on quarterly basis
  • Issue of TDS Certificates on quarterly basis
  • Create financial reports as needed, to be sent to the US office
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements
  • Help ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
  • Maintain and meet fund requirements at different locations of specific programs
  • Monitor budget utilization and provide budget comparison reports with analysis for variances
  • Other tasks assigned by line manager
Qualification and Experience
  • Graduate / Post Graduate degree in Commerce with at least 3-5 years of non-profit accounting experience
  • Thorough knowledge of computers for typing and data entry
  • Preferably, exposure in use of accounting software - Tally
  • Working knowledge of excel spreadsheets

Reporting: This position will report to the Finance Controller.
