integrated charter of (a) establishing a network of world class, India-relevant
schools of public health & strengthening some of the existing schools (b)
establishing standards for public health education through the formation of an
accreditation agency and (c) strengthening research and policy in areas related
to public health.
Job Description / Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership for Centre for Mental Health activities
- Provide overall leadership to all work packages under EMERALD and for administrative core of SHARE
- Monitoring and tracking progress of EMERALD research activities (work packages) and coordinating submission of progress reports
- Organize and coordinate capacity-building dissemination related activities under Centre for Mental Health generally and EMERALD and SHARE projects specifically
- To supervise the junior staff working in EMRALD and SHARE project
- Liaise with partner institutions and collaborators in EMERALD and SHARE project.
Qualifications / Experience and skills
required
- PhD/MD in a discipline relevant to public health, preferably mental health
- At least 8-10 years of experience in public health research, preferably with a focus on mental health. Candidates with prior experience in mental health systems research would be preferred
- Should have experience in writing and implementing research grants
- Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Excellent communication skills in English (both verbal and written)
- Ability to mobilize and coordinate with various stakeholders in the field of mental health
- Ability to take initiative and take leadership roles in projects
- Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
