The basket of products includes condoms, oral contraceptives, intra uterine devices, emergency contraceptives, ORS, water purification solutions; IFA tablets; clean delivery kits and pre-packaged STI treatment kit. PSI India is currently implementing an integrated behavior change program for better health of women, named ‘PEHEL’ in 30 districts spread across three states-Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi. The objective of Pehel program is to reduce unintended pregnancies, maternal mortality and morbidity among low income women of reproductive age. This project comprises of two components i.e. prevention of unwanted pregnancy using Intra Uterine Device (IUD) and increasing access to Safe Abortions. The WHP program caters to the target population of Women of Reproductive Age (WRA) in 15-49 age groups, living in urban and semi-urban areas, belonging to the B, C and D socio-economic class.

A. POSITION PURPOSE: 


• Provide managerial and technical support in implementing the program
• To assist in the development of training curriculum and material for communication activities

B. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in improving the scale and quality of Communication activity by identifying training needs
• Developing implementation work plans to ensure integration of different components for effective and efficient coverage and adequate monitoring.
• Monitor IPC & IPCCs activities (depends on team structure) and analyze reports to track performances and identify new communication and training needs 
• To co-ordinate with the outsourcing agency and give feedback on certain administrative aspects and performances. 
• To co-ordinate with the different communication agency on a regular basis on: 
• concept development and event intensity planning 
• development of material or other inputs needed for effective presentation of mid-media activities
• effective implementation of mid-media and outdoor activities 
• travel plans and monitor mid-media and outdoor activities
• Will co-ordinate regularly with other stake holders, Medical Detailers and other Development agencies of common interest, Will also keep the partners informed of the communication activities for the month in the particular district.
• Regularly provide quantitative and qualitative feedback, track impact of each activity and identify new communication needs and will coach ,mentor and provide supportive supervision to IPC team
• To identify and evaluate local media opportunities that could be effectively utilized.
• To ensure different efficiency level as per the program need in IPC and IPCC.

C.QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• PG must preferably in Mass Communications/MSW/Sociology
• Minimum 6-8 years of experience in ground level communications activities/Behavior Change communication activities.
• Experience in MCH (Maternal & Child Health) program 
• Ability to manage communication activities from conception to procurement to implementation.
• Smart, creative person.
