NSW Seeks Executive Director

National Social Watch (NSW) is the national secretariat of the National Social Watch Coalition (NSWC), which is a broad based network of civil society organisations and citizens and part of the Social Watch International based in Montevideo. The social watch process intends to analyse the performance of the institutions of governance and their commitment towards citizens and practice of democratic values. The major objective of NSW is to ensure the centrality of people at various levels - national, state and the panchayats - in process of governance through research, advocacy and social action. NSW wishes to recruit an Executive Director of the organisation to lead and to take forward its agenda.

Responsibilities: 

1. Build on the work of NSW in areas of research, networking and
advocacy
2. Support and strengthen the social watch coalitions in different
states
3. Manage the organisation and guide the work of all staff members
4. Manage the organisations external relations, including donor
relations
5. Resource mobilisation

Qualifications:
1. Masters Degree in Social Science and related fields is essential
2. M. Phil/ Ph. D is desirable

Experience:
1. Minimum of 5 to 7 years experience in at least one of the
following areas:
a. Research
b. Networking
c. Communications

Remuneration and other conditions:
1. Gross remuneration budgeted is in the range of 8 to 10 lakhs
per annum. However, actual pay depends on the candidate’s
expertise and experience
2. Initial appointment is for one year and extendable
3. Position is located at New Delhi, with some travel within the
country
