Program Coordinator (Delhi) - Plan India

PROGRAM COORDINATOR – DELHI

Reports To: State Manager - Delhi
Grade: C
Location: New Delhi
Duration: Fixed Term 3 Years

Level of Contact with Children: 1 (direct interaction with children)

Job Purpose:

Facilitate planning, and monitor of the implementation of Plan India’s programs and projects in Delhi state through constructive partnerships with grassroots NGOs, thematic liaison with district government departments and technical resource agencies to achieve the objectives of Plan India’s Country Strategic Plan in delivering immediate and lasting changes in the lives of deprived children, their families and communities.

Nature & scope of the job:

Within the broad parameters of the Country Strategic Plan (CSP), the job-holder will be responsible to facilitate and strengthen delivery of Plan India Programs in partnership with implementing NGOS and technical agencies in Delhi state; adhere to the standards and requirements of the program policies, monitor the results and outcomes, strengthen the delivery and report in the context of Plan International’s Program Accountability and Learning System (PALS).

The job holder would monitor and also build capacity of the partnership teams on the approved program and corporate policy and position of Plan India as circulated and revised from time to time.

The job holder will be the monitoring interface for NGO partnerships of Plan India in Delhi state for implementation of long-term child centered community development (CCCD) programs.

Principal Accountabilities of the job:

Support Delhi Program team (under North India Programs) to achieve the Country Strategic Plan (CSP) goals for Delhi.

• Facilitate operationalization of CSP objectives into area specific programs with clear expected outcome aligned to the Performance Metrics.
• Facilitate preparation of specific Program Outlines, budgets and monitoring plan with partner organisations.
• Coordinate with NGO Partners team for timely submission of accurate fund requests, budget utilisation, monthly planning and ensure transmittal of funds from Plan India country office.
• Monitor project implementation, provide hand holding support to ensure program quality and if required support project implementation team for mid course correction for time appropriate actions.
• Preparation and timely submission of required periodic reports independently and in coordination with state team and other support teams.
• Undertake research and data analysis of projects for maintaining good MIS of programs, quality improvement and documentation to promote institutional learning.
• Coordinate and participate in program studies, reviews and evaluations and follow-up on findings.
• Coordinate and facilitate donor visits / visits of other stake holders within and our side of Plan India team to Project Areas.
• Participate in audit wrap up and follow up on suggested actions in coordination with Internal Auditor and Finance officers.
• Training Needs Assessment of partner/ program staff and coordinate with Plan’s Strategy Teams base at Country Office to facilitate the training inputs as required
• Support sponsorship team in timely compliance of Sponsorship communication
• Perform any other relevant work as assigned by her\his line Manager

Person Specifications:

• Qualification – Masters in Social Work/Rural Development/Sociology or equivalent degree from institution of Repute.
• Clear understanding of Child Rights based approach, Human Rights Based Programming and development issues as they apply to the social development sector.
• At least 5 years experience in NGO program partnership management at mid level in program design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of integrated program/projects.
• Experience of program design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of integrated projects for Child Rights along with strong coordination and facilitation skills with multiple stakeholders.
• Fluency in Hindi (regional language wherever required) and English – both written and verbal
• Strong analytical skills required to manage program, partners and capture best practices for documentation and identification of area of improvement.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks and deliver within deadlines is expected
• Familiarity with operating MS office is essential

Travel Requirements: Up to 60% of time
