Main purpose of job: The COO will be responsible for the coordination of the overall organizational programme and activity implementation and management at DEF. This includes all aspects of projects oversight and coordination in capacity building, leading policy advocacy strategy, production of training materials, organisation of national consultations and participation in periodic review processes, participation in national, regional and global processes, implementation, campaign and advocacy support to teams, partnership management, supervision of project staff, budget management, report writing and monitoring and evaluation. The COO will also contribute to strengthen the relationship between DEF and its partner members and be main liaison for overall Foundation work within the organisation and for external stakeholders.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Oversee administrative, HR, operational , finance and management of the Foundation activities in tune with globally and nationally accepted norms and rules
- Oversee all programme areas & activities of the Foundation
- Ensure compliance of organizational procedures and rules in running programmes and activities by programme personnel
- Ensure that programme finance verticals are streamlined and complied with as per requirements of external evaluations
- Ensure that COO becomes the nodal point of interactions and engagements in programme activity compliance, grievance and redressal
- Ensure that all programme heads are in sync with programme roles and responsibilities in close coordination with COO
- Ensure that programme challenges are managed and solved at COO level
- Ensure that programme activities under designated programme heads are properly documented and follows professional norms and rules in process documentation

Educational Qualification

- Must be at least a post graduate preferably in Management;
- Additional and relevant qualification is a value addition.

Professional Qualification Required

- Must at least have 10 years of experience in administrative and management level
- Must have adequate management and administrative skills with command over subject and convincing ability
- Must be adequate communication and leadership skills
- Must be having capacity to work under pressure and handle professional pressures
- Must have good documentation skills

Remuneration

This is a full time engagement. Remuneration is based on DEF’s salary scale for the position for COO. Short-listed candidates will receive specific information on the salary range on request.

Age limit: Candidates should be preferably in the age bracket 40 – 50 years
