PROGRAM COORDINATOR - ODISHA

Reports To: State Manager - Odisha 

Location: Bhubaneswar

Level of Contact with Children: 2 (Sporadic or occasional contact with children)

Duration: Fixed Term 3 Years

Job Purpose:

To facilitate Child Centered Community Development Programs in Plan Odisha state program in alignment with Plan India’s Country Strategic Plan for the realization of Child Rights in the state.

Nature & scope of the job

Ensure effective implementation of Plan partnership programs in the state and monitor efficient utilization of financial resources to meet the project objectives within stipulated time frame.

Key Accountabilities:

• Liaise between Plan and partner for development of quality Child Centered Community Development programs
• Facilitate program planning and budgeting
• Monitor and report program progress and expenditure
• Ensure timely submission of accurate fund requests and fund transmittals
• Follow-up on audit actions in coordination with Finance Coordinator
• Ensure regular and timely donor reporting.
• Coordinate and facilitate donor visits.
• Facilitate linkages to networks for advocacy and learning
• Coordinate with internal and external technical resources for capacity building of partner staff
• Ensure adherence to Plan India’s child protection and gender equality policy in the partnership program
• Support development of proposals for expansion of state program
• Work in coordination with other departments – Sponsorship, ICT, Finance, Research and Evaluation and others
• Field visits (at least 60% of total time) for monitoring effective implementation of programs

Person Specifications:

• Post-Graduate/Degree (or equivalent) in Child Development/Social Sciences
• Understanding on Child Rights and Child Protection
• Work experience of at least 5 years in development sector with at least 2-3 years experience at mid level in program design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of integrated program/projects
• Experience of partnership management essential
• Strong coordination, facilitation, monitoring and documentation skills
• Ability to perform multiple tasks and deliver consistently on deadlines
• Strong analytical skills
• Comfortable working as a member of a culturally diverse team
• Familiarity with operating MS office
• Speaks, reads and writes English, Odiya fluently

Travel requirements: Up to 60% of time
