Regional Programme Officer - PHFI (Apply by: 27 March 2014)

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Excellent facilitation skills, good communication skills and persuasive skills, with good spoken and written English and Hindi
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills
  • Excellent networking and advocacy skills
  • Should have well versed with basic office productivity software including MS Office programs
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Ability to work under pressure

Other Responsibilities:
  • Program Management – Ensure successful implementation of program deliverables, including compliance to deadlines
  • Responsible for overseeing the operations of both Bihar and Odisha state
  • Identify and define state technical requirements and collaborate with Head office teams to fulfill those
  • Document and showcase the key activities to lead partner and funding organization
  • Develop both states project work plan on the lines of project deliverables
  • Accomplish activities consistent with the work plan, goals and objectives of the program
  • Provide training, mentoring and support to state PHFI team
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all partners. Responsible for liaison and coordination with stakeholders like Futures Group, HLFPPT, JHU-CCP and state govt. agencies / officers
  • Support MIS Manager in compiling monthly data
  • Promote a positive profile of the program and good understanding among other partners and represent PHFI and Ujjwal project in various advocacy forums to enhance visibility of the project
  • Responsible for overseeing timely payments and reimbursement as per norms against contracts/ agreements issued to participants, resource persons and vendors
  • Travel to program states for field visits, review meetings, meetings with stakeholders on a periodic basis.
  • Document project learning’s in the form of newsletter, periodic updates to state government, lead partner and donor agencies etc.
  • Assist the PI in
  • Organizing trainings and workshops
  • Liaison with FOGSI / Master Trainers
  • Liaison with Govt. officials
  • Planning qualitative field research activities
  • Any other responsibility assigned by PI

Candidate Profile

Qualification, Competencies / Skills required

Essential:
  • Masters’ in Rural development / Social Sciences / Public Health / Social sciences
  • 5-7years in the relevant field

Desirable:
  • M Phil PhD in public health (any stream)
  • Good knowledge on operational research both qualitative and quantitative, Good report writing, analytical skill
