Project Summary

FHI360
works to bring about positive changes in the actions of individuals, communities and institutions that improve the health and well-being of vulnerable populations across the world. Through bilateral funding from USAID/India,
FHI360’s BCC-IHBP Task Order focuses on institutional strengthening for Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) at national and state levels. The project uses evidence-based approaches to design SBCC strategies for HIV/AIDS, TB, MCH and FP/RH that reach to the community level and focus on individual and social change. Through advocacy and other community interventions, vulnerable communities will be empowered to address a variety of health issues, overcoming barriers such as stigma and gender-based discrimination.

Position Summary

The India BCC-IHBP Knowledge Management (KM) Advisor will lead the project’s communication, knowledge management and sharing within the project as well as with the client, government counterparts and the public health and communications community locally and globally.

Essential Job Functions

Specific responsibilities include but will not be limited to:


• Develop and implement documentation and dissemination plans
• Function as a focal point for knowledge management within the IHBP team and partners
• Coordinate and write quarterly newsletter, project reports, and issue briefs.
• Update and maintain project website that can contribute to the knowledge sharing and institutional strengthening objectives of the project.
• Assist in organizing public events such as conferences, meetings and promotional events and in developing press releases and presentations.
• Collect and summarize interesting BCC practices and examples
• Manage consultants for editing and documentation
• Manage printing and dissemination of training manuals, media guides, counseling cards, flipcharts, commodities instructions and inserts, brochures, booklets, etc.
• Update and maintain shared systems/processes.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold the following qualifications:


• Familiarity with health issues such as HIV/AIDS, TB, child survival, reproductive health and family planning (RH/FP) and/or Maternal and Child Health (MCH) is required
• Expertise and experience working with print, mass media, ICTs and other electronic media required.
• Strong written and verbal proficiency in English and Hindi is required.
• Master degree or equivalent experience in one of the following or related fields is required: journalism, social sciences, information communication technology (IE), or public health
• 8 years of experience in a similar role with a development project
