Senior Programme Officer - PHFI (Apply by: 27 March 2014)

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  •  Thorough knowledge on Family Planning & Safe Abortion
  •  Highly effective at securing relevant information through desk research; effective at applying web search      tools
  •  Excellent facilitation skills, good communication skills and persuasive skills, with good spoken and    written English and Hindi
  •  Excellent report writing and presentation skills
  •  Motivated, energetic, positive, thorough, and responsive to the needs of the project
  •  Proficient with all basic MS Office applications; proficient with or quick to learn new applications
Other Responsibilities:
  •  Responsible for providing technical support to the program and coordinate with partners organization and  state teams to strengthen the capacity building and quality assurance activities
  •   Maintain and develop material and review literature on Family Planning and Safe Abortion
  •   Support and assist in developing and finalising knowledge products for Family Planning and Safe Abortion
  •   Responsible for developing the initial concept note, collate information reports, data, and background    materials around family planning and safe abortion
  •   Responsible for organising periodic reviews and workshops meetings and preparing documents
  •   Responsible for developing and maintaining technical material on Family Planning and Safe Abortion for  training and e-learning
  •   Undertake documentation of PHFI activities and tracking the progress against deliverables
  •   Provide inputs in project activities and reporting mechanisms to monitoring the progress
  •   Data collation, data analysis, knowledge assessment and preparing report
  •    Assists National Capacity Building & Quality Assurance Manager in preparation of reports of deliverables
  •    Work under the technical guidance of the national capacity building manager
  •    Responsible for regular review and monitoring of the program progress in both States
  •    Travel to program states for field visits, review meetings, meetings with stakeholders on a periodic basis.
  •    Document project learning’s in the form of newsletter, periodic updates to state government, lead partner    and donor agencies etc.
Candidate Profile

Qualification, Competencies / Skills required

Essential:
  • Essentially, should have a PG in Public Health or Social science
  • 3-5 years in the relevant field is essential
Desirable:
  •  PhD in public health (any stream) is desirable
  •  Good knowledge on operational research both qualitative and quantitative, Good report writing, analytical  skill is desirable
