multi & bi-lateral agencies and civil society groups. PHFI is a response to redress the limited institutional capacity in India for strengthening training, research and policy development in the area of Public Health.

Structured as an independent foundation, PHFI adopts a broad, integrative approach to public health, tailoring its endeavours to Indian conditions and bearing relevance to countries facing similar challenges and concerns. The PHFI focuses on broad dimensions of public health that encompass promotive, preventive and therapeutic services, many of which are frequently lost sight of in policy planning as well as in popular understanding.

The Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, launched PHFI on March 28, 2006 at New Delhi. PHFI recognizes the fact that meeting the shortfall of health professionals is imperative to a sustained and holistic response to the public health concerns in the country which in turn requires health care to be addressed not only from the scientific perspective of what works, but also from the social perspective of, who needs it the most.

Project Brief: 

PHFI
has set up an Immunization Technical Support Unit (ITSU) within Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to provide technical support to the Ministry to revitalize and successfully implement the Universal Immunization Program (UIP). ITSU will provide technical and management expertise and build capacity to design, create, implement, and institutionalize a stronger immunization program fully lead by GOI.

Job Description / Responsibilities:

The major responsibilities of this position will be as follows:

• Support the Vaccine Logistics unit of ITSU in implementation of pilot projects on logistics management and cold chain system.
• Work with software and technology partners in system implementation including assist in defining requirements, system configurations, reports, testing, technical documentation, user training
• Liaison with state officials for day to day implementation of projects
• Assist in collating and analysis of data collected and prepare timely reports and submit to the supervisor.
• Assist in day to day operations, coordination of project activities and document project activities.
• Candidate should be prepared to spend good amount of days in districts, as per the program needs.
• Provide regular feedback of activities and a monthly report to PHFI supervisor.

Qualifications / Experience required

Essential Qualifications:
 

• Master in Computer Applications/ or Bachelors in Engineering with 1-5 years of experience.
• Experience in technology applications development and implementation.
• Knowledge and exposure to web and mobile based applications.
• Candidate should possess good writing and presentation skills and be proficient in using MS Office applications.
• Aptitude for Data Analytics, Modeling tools, Simulations.
• Knowledge of supply chain processes and systems will be an advantage.
• Experience of working in the field of Public Health and knowledge in using and analyzing results of Statistical Package (SPSS, SAS, STATA) is desirable.
