POSITION PURPOSE:
The Human Rights Education team is looking for a person
with strong initiative and is vibrant and energetic as its team assistant to
provide administrative support, coordinate between multiple projects,
facilitate programme impact assessment; coordinating budgeting and other
operational systems and mechanisms; communicate effectively and ensure timely
completion of tasks. S/he is expected to be a quick learner, who is
self-motivated to improve ways of working in this role
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work
closely with the Programme Coordinator on operational and programme
coordination elements
- Support
the operationalising of the monitoring and evaluation framework of the
programme.
- Co-ordinate
the documentation and consolidate the learnings from the pilot and scale –
up of the programme
- Co-ordinate
the programme budgeting process
- Provide
meeting support for internal/external meetings – planning and organizing
meetings, taking minutes, circulating and documenting minutes, follow-up
on action points etc.
- Provide
timely, well-organized background information for calls and meetings
- Co-ordinate
with administration and make team’s travel arrangements
- Maintaining
and storing files and other documentation
- Coordinate
with internal departments for set-up of meetings or follow-up
- Manage
the team calendar
- Assist
the team in keeping time commitments and completing tasks
- Any
other duties as assigned by the team
SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Understanding
and belief in the core values of Amnesty International
• Ability
to plan and organise your own work and that of the team
• Demonstrate
sensitivity and tact and alter presentation style when dealing with different
parties both internal and external.
• An
ability to multi-task and be goal oriented
• Excellent
verbal and written communication skills in English and preferably one other
regional language
• An
excellent grasp of the Microsoft office suite and online productivity tools
