FULL TIME LEGAL ASSOCIATE

The Society for Labour and Development’s mission is to help build a democratic society free from exploitation and discrimination. The SLD engages in its work through a collaborative and networking method, using a variety of strategies, cross-cutting issues and sectors, but with a focus on the rights of workers and marginalised people.

The Legal Associate will be part of SLD’s Legal Team, represent cases, and work strategically with the Field Team to innovate legal practice and policy.

Qualifications:
• Law graduate
• Knowledgeable about legal systems, labour laws and struggles
• Some experience with legal systems, labour courts
• Knowledge of working class politics and social issues of workers
• Ability to work with diverse people; being challenged
• Excellent communication, writing and reading skills in English and Hindi;
• Excellent inter-personal skills; self-motivated, eager to learn
• Excellent organisational and documentation skills; computer skills
• Social Work / Development / Human Rights oriented education a plus.
